This appeal presents an issue of first impression: whether an action for commercial disparagement is governed by the one-year statute of limitations set forth in 42 Pa.C.S. 5523(1), or the two-year statute of limitations set forth in 42 Pa.C.S. 5524(7). The Superior Court determined that the two-year limitations period found in Section 5524(7) applied. For the reasons that follow, we reverse and hold that the one-year limitations period found in Section 5523(1) governs an action for commercial disparagement.
